We will appeal to you who read this: Find someone who can support you to put the following announcement in the biggest newspaper in your country, on page 5. You may use the text below, make your own lay-out, and include the ten commandments, both as they are found in the Ex. 20:3-17 and in the Lutheran Catechism. Then people may see the difference themselves.

THE BIGGEST FALSERY IN HISTORY?

Presently Christian leaders all over the world are uniting to exalt the weekly rest of day. Pope John Paul II is appealing to the Christian world to observe the sacredness of Sunday. The focus is therefore on the Ten Commandments. But have we been exposed to a gigantic deception? We are here uncovering a serious falsification that is little known to most people. In our country and the world at large immorality is increasing, and a steady effort to combat the situation is manifested on a daily basis.

  • The president of the United States of America, George W. Bush and his Christian supporters feel we must return to the Ten Commandments.
  • Pope John Paul II wants Sunday as the day of rest.
  • In Europe, the joint Council of Churches (CEC) are about to bind the churches together after a Catholic pattern, and Sunday will be brought into focus as a common day of rest.
  • In European Union, Romano Prodi, the leader of the union and a catholic in faith, wants to have common religious laws in all the countries belonging to the union, and Sunday as a common day of rest, is something both Catholics and most Protestants can agree upon.
  • In the USA, the biggest religious groups are working hard in order to establish Sunday as a national day of rest.
  • Many bishops and priests are longing to renew Sunday sacredness.
  • Some are in favour of public actions to protect the weekly rest day, while others want fines imposed if the sacredness is broken.
  • We are also experiencing how bishops and priests are uniting with labor organizations, enviromental movements and different branches of the working class, to protect Sunday and make it into a day that is different. The motives can be good, and initially it is very good to want a day with superior content and activity. We need to reduce stress, to rest, and receive spiritual and physical renewal.

    IGNORANCE?

In this connection, with respect to those who have leading positions in our country, we want to ask the following questions:

Do they - the prime minister, the representatives of the government, the church and educational minister, the bishops, the priests and the ones that teach Christian subjects in schools - know that the commandments in the Cathechism on several points are completely different than God's Ten Commandments?

In the Cathechism, the 2nd commandment has been removed. Furthermore, they have removed most of the text, as found in the Bible, connected with the Sabbath commandment. This commandment says that we must have the seventh day, the Sabbath, as the rest day. Sunday is, according to the Bible, the first day of the week. Since they removed one commandment, they were one commandment short. To restore a total of ten commandments, they divided the last commandment in two. They also have taken away nearly all the text in the Biblical fourth commandment, which says that we shall have the Biblical Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, as the day of rest. Furthermore they have taken away the text in this fourth commandment which says that God in Heaven is the Lawmaker, and not the Catholic Church. At least they have taken away the text which tells us that God blessed and hollowed the Sabbath day. The removing of these vital important texts of the Ten Commandment in the Cathechism is a serious fraud. The Catholic Church has made a very big falsery. The biggest falsery in history! They have really broken the Law of God. [Compare the two printed examples of the commandment law].

    THE LAW OF GOD
    Exo. 20, 3-17

    THE LAW OF GOD
    as changed by man in
    THE CATECHISM

    1.

Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.

    1.

I am the Lord thy God, Thou shalt not have strange gods before Me.

    2.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

    2.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

    3.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

    3.

Remember that thou keep holy the Sabbath day.

    4.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work: but the Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou nor thy dauther, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day. Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

    4.

Honour thy father and thy mother.

    5.

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

    5.

    Thou shalt not kill.

    6.

    Thou shalt not kill.

    6.

    Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    7.

    Thou shalt not commit adultery.

    7.

    Thou shalt not steal.

    8.

    Thou shalt not steal.

    8.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

    9.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

    9.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife.

    10.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour's.

    10.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods.

    THE PRIESTS

When the priests assume their priestly duties, they are admonished to preach the Word of God with clearness and purity, as it is written in the Scripture. Why are they proclaiming the commandments of the Cathechism and not God's Ten Commandments? Are they not aware of the fact that they are misleading the people when they teach the commandments the way they are written in the Lutheran Cathechism? Are they not aware that the Cathechism commandments actually are originating from the Catholic Church? They made this falsery long time ago before Luthers was borne.

    THE REST DAY COMMANDMENT

In the Cathechism commandments, there is no mention of what day we must keep as a rest day. But as we have seen, in the fourth commandment in the Bible, it is written clearly that we should have the Sabbath as the day of rest. So when professed Christians are putting a focused emphasis on the rest day, it ought to be the day the Creator has made holy and blest, the Sabbath.

The Biblical Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday (Gen. 3: 23,32). But man has instituted Sunday as a rest day, which is the Biblical first day of the week. (Gen. 2:1-3).

According to the weekly pattern found in the Bible, Sunday is the first work day. This is applicable also today (Neh. 13: 16-21 and Luke 16:1-6). Therefore it is astonishing, and at the same time sad, that the Lutheran Church, with all its branches, supports the Catholic counterfeit commandments and their spurious day of rest, Sunday. They thereby accept the changing and breaking of God's holy law.

Those who have knowledge of this, and accept it, and do not turn away from this fraud, are indirectly accepting law breaking and testament falsification. The result is that God is compelled to withdraw his blessings from our nations and our people, unless acknowledgment and conversion take place (Jonah, chapter 3).

    TIME FOR DECISION

Now is the time to clothe ourselves in «sackcloth and ashes», to humble ourselves before God, to acknowledge our mistakes and to ask forgiveness and mercy. Then God will through Jesus Christ forgive us, protect and guide us. We will receive His peace that is beyond understanding (Isaiah, chapter 56: and 1.John 1:9).

Jesus has given His life to redeeme us. When we experience His love, it will also be a joy to keep god's commandments (1. John 5:2-3). With God's help we can receive strength to do just that (1. Cor. 10:13). It is important to keep God's Ten Commandments because we will be judged by them when our lives have come to an end (Eccl. 12:13-14).

We are seeking to present this issue with our country, the responsible religious leaders, and the people of our nation in mind. Everyone must understand that this is serious, and must make their decision, either to follow the commandments of men (and thereby accept the authority of the papacy), or to follow God's Ten Commandments (and have God as their supreme authority).

The Bible appeals to us time and again to understand that our actions are followed by consequences. God's word says; If we walk in His commandments and keep His law and do them, it will be well with us, but if we do not obey Him, and do not keep His commandments, then calamities will come upon us (Lev. chapter 26 and Deut. chapter 28). This principle is also applicable today.

    THE TEST

Today Christian leaders are uniting and wanting to exalt the false rest day, the day of the sun (Sunday). Pope John Paul II gives a strong appeal to the Christian world in his pastoral letter, Dies Domini», for the exaltation and enforcement of the man-made day of rest, coupled with the Catholic and unbiblical Eucharist (Communion), where they are sacrificing Jesus anew every time they eat the wafer (Communion bread). This is contrary to what is standing in the Bible, in 1 Cor. 11:23-26 and Hebrews 9:24-28).

When we know about the change that is made in the day of rest, we are responsible for making the right or wrong choice. And the Bible says the issue of the day of rest will come into focus and become the great test of loyalty just before the return of Jesus. Then Sunday as the day of rest will be promoted by law, or force, and they that refuse to accept the man-maid rest day, will not be permitted to buy or sell (Rev. 13:11-17). There are many signs pointing in the direction that the global Sunday movement, which is flourishing today, is the prelude to this great conflict.

The test will be: Will we exalt the papacy's unbiblical rest day, or will we choose to be faithful to the Creator and worship and exalt Him on the day He has blessed and set aside for holy use?

    THE CHOICE

Signs in our time indicate that Jesus Christ will soon return to gather all them that believe in Him, they that keep God's commandments and have the faith of Jesus (John 3:16 and Rev. 14:12). Who will then be ready? We have laid the foundation for this today!
